The PTA is a combined effort between the faculty and parents at JES.  The PTA strives to support teachers, the school, and the students.  Over the years the PTA has helped to provide the children with special events and field trips such as a school-wide field trip to the Granby Zoo in Canada, Flynn Theater field trips, musical performances such as the Project Harmony performance, and a Science Fair.  

  The PTA relies on parent volunteers.  Without these volunteers the children would miss out on many opportunities that the regular school budget could not provide.  The PTA regularly meets on the second Tuesday of each month.  The time of the meeting is at 5:30, and we meet in the library.  

  Over the years the PTA has fine-tuned fundraising efforts to provide the funding for the special events and field trips. Our most successful fundraiser is the Gertrude Hawk Chocolate sale.  Each year the PTA has raised between 4,000-5,000 dollars.  We also help out with lunchtime at Town Meeting Day.
